In 1996, three friends calling themselves "Harmonic Company" began singing Boyz II Men songs in the hallways of Riverdale Collegiate Institute in Toronto, Canada, in total a cappella three part harmony. In the year 2000, as a quintet, the boys started calling themselves "After Hours" and began finding fans with their free evening concerts by the beach, singing in the Kew Beach Park Boat House.
